This year Xiaomi India ventured outside of its home market, China, and into India. For many months now, it’s been holding pretty much weekly flash sales in partnership with Flipkart, the biggest retailer in the subcontinent. And apparently those have been going quite well.
Xiaomi India’s boss for India, Manu Kumar Jain, has announced today via Twitter that the company has opened its new service centres in India i.e. Hyderabad, Cochin, and Mumbai.
Apart from both exclusive service centres in Bangalore and Delhi, they now have 3 new exclusive service centres – in Hyderabad, Cochin, and Mumbai!
Xiaomi to release kernel source on December 31
Xiaomi Global team on Dec-28-2014 announced the release of kernel source on December 31. A large number of MI customers were left disappointed due to lack of Xiaomi’s Software Updates to Kitkat(4.4.4) and Android Lollipop (5.0) when compared to far larger demand for Motorola’s And Nexus Lollipop updates.
It has become the largest smartphone seller in the second quarter ended June in China, upstaging majors Samsung and Apple, and, going by the demand, is poised to make rapid inroads into India as well where the smartphone market is set to nearly double to over 80 million devices this year.
